Residential Foundations

EcoPile Residential Foundations

What Is EcoPile?

EcoPile is a revolutionary, concrete-free residential piling system designed and engineered specifically for New Zealand’s diverse ground conditions,
from soft coastal sand to steep clay banks and sedimentary rock.

Unlike traditional concrete piles or standard screw piles, EcoPile uses exclusive multi-directional steel piling technology that mirrors
the structural logic of a tree’s root system – combining shallow and deep foundation principles to achieve exceptional load transfer through
skin friction, toe resistance, and bearing capacity, all without a single bucket of concrete.

The result? A foundation system that goes in faster, costs less, and leaves less impact on your site!

Drive the piles in with hand tools. No mess. No waiting. Start building the same day!

How Does EcoPile Work?

EcoPile’s design is inspired by nature. A tree doesn’t rely on a single deep root – it distributes load through a network of shallow and deep anchors.
EcoPile does exactly the same.

Each footing uses multi-directional steel pile elements that are driven into the ground by hand (no excavator or concrete pump required).
Once installed, the opposing forces created by each pile direction lock the footing firmly in place, resisting compression, uplift, lateral, and bending moment loads simultaneously.

100% REUSABLE
RECYCLABLE

Ecopile is 100% reusable and 100% recyclable. Has the lowest carbon footprint compared to screw piles and conventional concrete piles that need heavy machinery.

DIY NO HEAVY
TOOLS

Installs can be completed in under 5 minutes per post and are instant load bearing so work can continue without having to wait for dry times.

FASTEST
INSTALL

Installation with hand tools without the need for specialist skilled operators. No heavy machinery means fewer people on site, lower safety risk and cleaner site compared to concrete foundations.

COST-
EFFECTIVE

No concrete so no council pre-pour inspections. No mess, no fuss, any weather, no specialist trades, instant load bearing, no wait time, soft sand to hard rock – all equate to less time and cost.

EcoPile For Residential Footings

The Engineering Behind The EcoPile System

EcoPile’s design is inspired by nature. A tree doesn’t rely on a single deep root – it distributes load through a network of shallow and deep anchors. EcoPile does exactly the same.

Each footing uses multi-directional steel pile elements that are driven into the ground by hand (no excavator or concrete pump required). Once installed, the opposing forces created by each pile direction lock the footing firmly in place, resisting compression, uplift, lateral, and bending moment loads simultaneously.

Key Engineering Principles Of EcoPile

  • Shallow Foundation Bearing Capacity: Immediate surface load support
  • Deep Foundation Skin Friction: Load transfer along the pile shaft into stable soil
  • Toe Resistance: Firm end-bearing against dense sub-layers
  • Multi-Directional Anchoring: 4-way resistance to lateral and uplift forces

This hybrid approach is why EcoPile achieves load capacities up to 50 tonnes per footing – comparable to concrete, without any of the downsides.
